LOS ANGELES, July 31. (Received August I, at 11 a.m.) The Olympic battle began to-day in a blazing sun before 20,000 spectators. The cinder track is very fast. NURMI’S SUSPENSION INDIGNATION IN FINLAND HELSINGFORS, July 30. There is great indignation in Finland at the exclusion of Nurmi. Sporting circles, the Press, and the public are unanimous in a demand for the withdrawal of the entire Finnish delegation from the Games. The Athletic Association, however, cabled the representatives at Los Angeles telling them to make up their own minds.
