CHARGED WITH MURDER
HERMITAGE TRAGEDY RECALLED [Pu United Peeks Association.] HOKITIKA, April 18. William John Thomas Whally, married, aged thirty-three, was arrested to-day and charged this afternoon with the murder of William Edward Wogan at the Hermitage on November 5, 1931. He was brought before a justice and remanded to appear at Timaru on April 26. [The deceased, who was a barman at the Hermitage, died as the result of a gunshot wound. The evidence at the inquest suggested that the wound was not self-inflicted, and the coroner returned an open verdict.]
