BRITISH PARLIAMENT

ABOLITION OF OATH LABOUR MEMBERS’ BILL. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, April 13. Mr J. M'Govern _ (Lab.)' has given notice that he will introduce a Bill in the House of Commons on .April 20 to abolish the oath in the British Parliament. The text of the Bill has not yet been drafted, but, according to the ‘ Sketch’s ’ lobbyist, it will contain a conscience clause which would permit Republicans, who object to the Monarchy, to take their seats without taking the oath, but it will not deprive members who wish to do so from tailing the oath.
