WORK OF RELIEF DEPOTS Big demands are still being made on the Hospital Board’s unemployment relief depot in Dowling street, and single men as well as married men are receiving relief in their stand-down week. The depot requires a supply of men’s trousers and boots, and would also be grateful for donations of vegetables to meet immediate needs. _ Activities at the Citizens’ Relief Depot in the Octagon have been hampered by a shortage of supplies. There have been quite a few whose wants have not been able to be attended to owing to lack of stocks on hand. Money and goods are still required if the work at the Central Mission as well as at Dowling street is to be continued. The following donations to the Central Mission depot are gratefully acknowledged:—H.E.B., £1; Miss M., £1; member St. Hilda Methodist Church, ss; D.C.C., 10s; Mr Reed, 3s; “ Anon.,” 2s 6d and Is; T. Goodchild (per Pastor More), four dozen pies; Duke’s staff, Mr Henderson, and Mrs : Denny, meat; Laurenson’s, Miss Fraser, Wright’s, J. R.
