Mr Riddiford has announced his intention of retiring from his extensive participation in sport in the dominion. The stables were erected about nine years ago, and horses from there have since earned cer £30,000 in stakes. His best horses have been Grand Knight and Historic. Mr Riddiford intends to keep Historic and Clangor meanwhile, and may have them trained at another centre. Three sons of Limond, the three-year-old Forestry, and the two-year-old colts Meritor and Might will probably be sent to Australia, and S. G. Reid may go across and set up establishments there. If these horses should race successfully Mr Riddiford may continue to patronise Australian meetings.
