Mr Justice Owen, of Sydney, and Mrs Owen arrived in Wellington by tho Monowai on a holiday trip to New Zealand. They will bo the guests of Sir Frederick and Lady Chapman. Advice has been, received in Dunedin of tho death of Mr George Sydney Williden, formerly of Dunedin, at Brisbane. Mr Willideu was connected here with the building trade, and will be remembered by many for his activity as a member . of the Dunedin Volunteer; Fire Brigade. Latterly lie had beer i managing Messrs Ulhmann Bros, ice', works in Brisbane. A Press Association message from Sydney states that Mr R. J. Mayne, of' Albury College, lias been appointed bead master of the Mentone (Victoria); Grammar School. He was formerly on the staffs of leading New Zealand schools. Price (Waimate); Mr and Mrs C.j F. Lory (Windsor), Mr S. Pairs (Timaru), and Mr G. L. Weir (Ranfurly).
