BIRTHS ALSD DEGREASED VITAL STATISTICS FOR YEAR Features of the figures recorded by the Registrar (Mr W. E. Gladstone) for Dunedin and district for the year ending to-day are decreases in births, deaths, and marriages as compared with 1930. The figures are as follow, those for last year being given for comparative purposes:— 1931. 1930. The figures for the month of December this year are as follow, those for the corresponding month of last year being given in parentheses:—Births 128 (128), deaths 78 (66), marriages 74 (102). For the October-Novemher-Decem-ber quarter of this year the figures are as follow, with the figures for the corresponding quarter of last year given in parentheses:—Births 362 (393), deaths 228 (228), marriages 167 (200).
