The final meeting of the Lindon Lodge for the year was held on Tuesday night in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Roslyn, when A.D. Bro. Millar presided over a good muster of members. The business was quickly, conducted, and A. D. Bro Heather, of the Ivanhoe Lodge, and a large number of his officers and members were admitted and welcomed by Bro, Millar. The lodge was then adjourned for the purpose of playing a game of euchre for the shield. After the game, D.P. Bro. Reeves, who conducted the evening, announced that Ivanhoe had won. Supper was provided, during which A.D. Bro. Millar toasted “ The Ivanhoe Members,” A.D. Bro. Heather replying. D.G.P, Bro. Walker then handed over the shield to Bro. Heather, and expressed the hope that they would hold it for some time. Seasonal greetings were warmly given and exchanged, and the evening closed in harmony. During the evening it was announced that ,a fresh ballot was to be taken for the office of D.P., as the previous voting was too close to declare any of the candidates elected. At the last meeting of Ivanhoe Lodge A.D. Bro. Finder presided over a splendid gathering of officers and members. Season’s greeting were received from several lodges in the district,_ as also were congratulations on winning the Efficiency Shield. Intimation to the effect that there would be no meeting of Grand Lodge was received from the Board of Management. D.P. Bro. Reeves attended officially and installed the lodge officers, with the assistance of P.A. Bro. Morris. After several members had paid tribute to the services that Bro. J. Simmons had given to the lodges, it was decided that his services should not go unrecognised. On the following Wednesday night the Christmas treat for the lodge members’ children was held, there being about 140 children present. During the evening the children were entertained with songSj music, and dances. Those who contributed items were;—Misses May Wilson, piano; Iris Gordon, dance; Marjorie Rhodes, dance and recitation; Betty Wilson, recitation; Bettie Gprie, dance; Winnie Graham, song; M. Kennedy, sword dance; Masters G. Tilton, mouth-organ, and D. Graham, recitation, Bro. Wilkinson and Miss Drake, banjo and piano. After, supper the A.D., Bro. Heather, thanked the parents, and extended the season’s greetings. '
