In cold climates the great thing is to keep the feet and legs warm. When mountain climbing, Sir Martin Conway, the great Alpinist, used to wear a pair of silk socks, then, a pair of Shetland wool stockings, over them a pair of Norwegian goat’s hair ditto, and over all a pair of Swiss hoots made of three thicknesses of leather.
The male angler fish attaches himself by so firm a bite to his mate that in time ho becomes permanently attached. One female fish caught measured 3ft 6m . m length; her mate was only 4m long.
