NEWEY, GEORGE ■ WATERS, JOHN BIGGAR, ' As the nominations of representatives of the Payers of Harbour Dues on Ships do not exceed the required number, I Hereby Declare the said DEANE FREDERICK HENRY SHARPE and FRANCIS EDWARD TYSON duly ELECTED for the ensuing term as the said representatives. There being more than the required number of persons nominated to represent the Payers of Harbour Dues, other than Dues on Ships, a BALLOT will be taken on WEDNESDAY, May 6th, 1931, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., at the Otago Harbour Board Office, Birch street,; Dunedin. Special attention is drawn to the following : Where harbour dues have been paid byt a corporate body the person to vote on behalf of such body must be appointed in writing, under its corporate seal. Where harbour dues have been paid by two or more persons, _ jointly, only one of such persons is entitled to vote, and the one of such persons to vote in respect of such payment must be appointed in writing. ■ Such appointment may be made in the firm name, or in the name under which the business of those persons is carried on, bv any- person authorised, or entitled to sign that name. But any firm, one of whose members is entitled to vote at the election, may, if no member of the firm is resident at the place where the election is to be held, appoint, byj writing under the firm’s name, some person to vote at such election in respect of the payment of harbour dues by such firm.. The above-mentioned appointments must be produced when any claim to vote is made.. Any person acting under a power ot attorney executed by a person who is entitled to vote as the payer of dues must,on making his application to vote, pro. duce the power of attorney ,and must,in the presence of the Returning Officer or jiis deputy, make and sign a declaration in the prescribed form. • ■ To ensure that .authorities to vote comply with the regulations, it is suggested that persons proposing to vote should produca their authorities to the undersigned for inspection prior to the day of election.
