Kipgsford Smith departed at 7.5 in the Southern Cross for Akyab (Burma) with twenty-five bags to transfer to tho Imperial Airways machine. There was uo hitch in the arrangements. ARRIVAL AT KOEPANG. KOEPANG, April 26. Tho Southern Cross arrived with the air mail about 11 o’clock, and is proceeding for Sourabaya to-morrow at dawn. ENGLISH MAILS PICKED UP. ‘ DARWIN, April 27. A Qantas piano left for Brisbane at 6.45 with English mails, which Kingston! Smith brought from Koepang. KINGSFORD SMITH HONOURED. KOEPANG, April 27. A few minutes after his arrival from Darwin Kingsford Smith received a message from the Royal Air Club stating that ho had been awarded tho Britannia trophy for the most meritorious performance in tho air during 1930. LONDON, April 27. (Received April 28, at 10.20 a.m.) The Royal Aero Club has awarded the 1930 Britannia Trophy' to Kingsford Smith. The flights considered were those to Newfoundland and Australia.
