WANTS DOMINION STATUS Dissatisfaction with present-day conditions is causing a steady growth in North. Wales of the Welsh Nationalist Party, who consider that Wales should have her own Government and dominion status. Meetings are being held in many parts of North Wales at which the English Conservative, Liberal, and Labour Parties are roundly condemned for their Jack of interest in Wales. At a recent meeting. Professor J. E. Daniel declared that Wales is being dragged at the heels of England, and that its only hope of salvation is freedom from a system of government which has the effect of retarding all progress on nationalist lines. At another meeting Professor Daniel, who is a prominent leader of the party, stated that the ever-growing foreign element in Wales was disastrous. Ho also condemned broadcasting which, lie said, by carrying English speech, views, and ideals into the heart of Wales, was a serious enemy to the progress of Welsh nationalism. Mr Saunders Lewis, the leader of the Nationalist Par' /, referred to the fact that the unemployment figures are higher in Wales than in any other part of the United Kingdom.
