FATAL JUMP. At the inquest on Charles Frederick Astridgo, who was killed when a motor lorry in which he was • a passenger crashed over a bank on Paekakariki Hill, Mr Salek found that deceased was killed through jumping from tho lorry while it was out of control. The driver (Gay) gave evidence that the lorry got away while going down in gear through tho propeller shaft breaking. Deceased jumped, or fell, while the lorry was still on tho road. He steered into tho bank three times in an attempt to stop, and the third time the lorry, on returning to the road, wont clean across and over.—Wellington Association message.
