FOURTH BURGLARY IN ONE HOUSE [Sfacui. to tub 'Stab.’] AUCKLAND, August 25. Paying their fourth visit to the home of Mr James Smith, 3,'J Birdwood avenue, Parnell, on Saturday night, burglars damaged and ransacked tho dwelling, packed their booty in a hamper, had supper in the kitchen, and left by the front door. Tho house was burgled between 7 o’clock and 10. AU. Mr Smith is a grocer in Parnell. It is believed that the burglars who havo so often raided, his house on Saturday nights have been in search of the taking sfrom his shop. He has profited by previous visits, and for some time past has put his money in a place where burglars will not get their hands on it. Saturday’s raid was carried out while the family were at a picture show. “ Yes, it's our house again,” said Mr Smith, with an accompanying smile," when a ‘ Star ’ reporter called on. him this morning- “ It’s getting a bit hot, you know,” he added, looking more serious. “ This is the fourth time the house has been burgled during the last two years. It’s about time they gave someone else a turn.” “Yes.” interposed Airs Smith, “it’s the damage they do. This tune they have splintered the.windows and doors, and have ransacked etery room in the house. It is making me nervous, and I’m really afraid to come into a dark house, especially on Saturday nights.”
