CROSSING THE GOLDEN GATE.—Each year considerable interest is taken, at San Francisco, in the swim sponsored by the “Chronicle” of that city, This year nearly 200 trained swimmers took part in the contest which was won-by Dr. George Horsfall, of the Olympic Club, in 46 minutes 34 seconds. The race was across the Golden Gate. Photograph shows the start of the event at Lime Point.
