A. AND P. SOCIETY
TAHUHA PARK Mr H. C. Campbell presided at a meeting of the Executive Committee of tho Otago A. and P. Society yesterday afternoon. 'The city electrical engineer submitted an estimate of the cost of installing six lamps at Tahuna Park for the convenience of exhibitors arriving on the grounds late, it was pointed out that not onlyr would it be an advantage to exhibitors, but tho lights would be a great convenience to thosa using the park as a parking area.—lt was decided that the question of lighting the grounds be left in the hands of the secretary to make the best posssiblo arrangements with tho city engineer. _ A report was submitted in connection with the proposal to extend tho present railway line into the show grounds.—After some discussion it was decided to send a copy of the report to each member of the committee so that the whole position could be fully discussed at the next monthly meeting, A letter from the Dunedin Manufacturers’ Association, read at the last monthly meeting, was further considered, and it was decided to send a copy to the special committee appointed to deal with tho proposal of erecting show buildings at Tahuna Park.—Mr Turner pointed out that at the special meeting four conditions were imposed, three of which had been practically agreed to, and the only one not complied with was the selling of the Crawford street premises before any largo expenditure should be incurred at Tahuna Park. This condition could not be altered without calling another special meeting for its decision, and he supported the proposal that a statement of the position be sent to the special committee.
