Squadron-leader Kingsford Smith, wbo is on board the Aorangi, was tendered a luncheon to-day by the Chamber of Commerce. The mayor, in seconding Major Joske’s toast of “Our Visitor,” said that Squadron-leader Kingsford Smith and the Southern Cross had done more to make Fiji known to the far corners of the earth than anyone or anything Squadron-leader Kingsford Smith, in replying, said that his associate, Flightlieutenant Ulrn, regretted that ho was not able to come to Fiji to renew old friendships. They hoped within five months to establish an east-to-west airline.
