TO-DAY’S CASH PRICES The guide gives the prices ruling for cash in the city shops to-day. Grocery prices are:—Sugar, 2|d lb; eggs, Is 4d and ts 5d per dozen; butter, Is 8d and 1s iOd per lb; cheese, Is, Is 2d, and Is 4d (matured) lb; bacon, Is 2d and Is 4d lb; flour, 10s 9d (SO’s) and 5s BcJ (25’s). Other lines are steady. Meat prices:—Beef (roast)" from 6d to 9d per lb; corned beef, 7d lb; mutton, from 5d to 9d lb; lamb, from lOd lb; pork, from lOd to Is lb. Vegetable prices are:—Onions, Btb for 1s; Taieri potatoes, Blb for Is; cabbages, 6d and 8d each; •cauliflowers, 3a, 4d, 6d, and 8d; lettuce, 6d and 8d each; swedes, 141 b for 1s; spinach, 3d bunch; tomatoes, 1s 6d lb; rhubarb, 6d bunch; pumpkins, slb Is; melon, 51b Is; hothouse cucumbers, Is 9d, and 2s; tomatoes.
