AH IRRESISTIBLE COMEDY 1 Wickedness Preferred,’ which opens at the Octagon Theatre to-morrow night, i.s claimed by the management capable ol fulfilling one Lour of continuous laughter. r l he leading roles are interpreted by Lew Cody and Ailcen Pringle, the popular comedy stars. The story concerns Hie adventures of the author of a particularly “llaming” story of island love, who, arriving at Palm Brtu-h for a holiday with his wife, meets a tat friend and his partner. The author linds in his friend’s wile a. most ardent admirer, and quickly succumbs to her flattery; so much so that lie agrees to being taken to an island to bring his imaginarv book characters to blc. Iho author's wife and the unfortunate husband of the admirer put then* beads together i,nil evolve a plan to disillusion the silly couple. I lie .scene then moves to the island, whore sumo screamingly 1 tinny situations develop. The humour (lows regularly in the film, the story of which was written by Warner Eabian, remembered lor his previous “ best seller ” and screen .sensation, ‘ Flaming Youth.’ A partieularlv 'interesting programme ol supports will he included, these including a comedy ‘Their Purple Alomcnl, leatnring timsc inimitable comedians Stan Eaurel and Oliver Hardy. The first film of the rescue of General Nobile and his party from the icc will also lie shown, together with a novelty film, ‘Gypsv Courage,’ an historic film of the rise of Jem Mace to the boxing championship ol England, 'the New Zealand travelogue i.s ‘Views ol New ( Plymouth.’ Another splendid musical programme will be presented by Al. Dc Rose and the Octagon Concert Orchestra.
