All . now policies issued in _ the participating section of tho society’s ordinary department before the close of tho year’s accounts, December 31, will be entitled to share in the bonus distribution for the year 1928. Year after year, these bonuses have shown steady increases, those allotted for 1927 being on the average over 50 per cent, higher than those of 1920. Last year, the cash surplus divided after appropriating considerable reserves __ on a basis ensuring impregnability, amounted to nearly £3,000,000, making tho total distributed in _cash bonuses since the society’s establishment, over £41,000,000; tlm reversionary bonuses added to the policies, for tho one year 1927, amounted to about £5,000,000. Company, after adding £92,050 to reserve and setting aside £1,000,000 as premium received for tho issue of new deferred stock for new tonnage construction, shows a credit balance of £923,029. It is proposed to deal with this amount as follows:—Reserve for tho redemption of debentures, £103,132; Provident Good Service Fund. £20.000; and to carrv forward £121,929.

There was a small offering of greasy merinos, a large supply of scourcds, and an excellent selection of slipes, with a largo offering of second-hand greasy crossbreds. There was good competition for all descriptions at full date rates. The Bradford market is dull and somewhat easier, business being exceed' ingly small. —Australian Press Association.
