DIVORCE COURT

JUDGE GRANTS PETITIONS Two applications for dhorce were heard this morning by His Honour Mr Justice MacGregor. OUDNEY v. OUDNEY. William Oudnoy (petitioner) v. Ethel Violet Oudney (respondent), petition for divorce on the ground of separation for three years or upwards. Mr B. S. Irwin entered an appearance on behalf of the respondent to safeguard, he said, the interests of the children and in connection with alimony. ■ , Mr W. G. Hay appeared lor the petitioner. Petitioner stated in.evidence that ho was married in June, 1915, and lived in Dunedin with his wife. . In 1922 his wife proceeded against and . was granted a separation order. Since then they have lived apart. He had paid maintenance -in accordance with- the agreement and had arranged for the future maintenance of his wife and two children. After hearing corroborative evidence, His Honour granted a decree nisi, to be made absolute after the expiration of three calendar months. M'COMBE v. M‘COMBE.

Edwina Johnstone M‘Combo (petitioner) v. John M‘'Combo (respondent), petition for divorce on the ground of desertion. • '' Mr Cameron appeared tor the petitioner, who gave evidence that she was married in 1894, and afterwards lived at various places in Central Otago. In September, 1911, her husband deserted her and had not since contributed to the support of the home. There were five children. After hearing corroborative evidence, His Honour granted a decree nisi, to be made absolute aftc. the .expiration of three calendar months. Costs on the lowest scale were allowed against the respondent.
