OTAGO REGIMENTAL BAND
To-morrow night, in His Majesty’s Theatre, the above baud will present the fourth of its series of monthly Sunday evening concerts. The programme is a ’ell-varied one, and includes two stirring marches, a selection, and Rachmaninoff’s ‘ Prelude I .’ _ This will be the first occasion on which two of the items have been played here. The selection ‘ Desert Song ’ (Romberg) is a popular English composition which introduces airs from ‘ Azuri’s Dance of Triumph,’ ‘One Alone,’ ‘The Riff Song,’ ‘ It,’ ‘ Foreign Legion,’ and other similar works. The ‘ Peace Centennial ’ march is a very full and stirring one, composed quite recently in America. The services of Mr W. H. Le Gal have been secured, and his item will bo the violin solo ‘ Pezcatti ’ (Polonski); while a clarinet solo with full band accompaniment will be given by Bandsman G. Congalton. Tho programme is a full instrumental one, and as usual Lieutenant Llew 0. Asten will bo tho conductor. Tho doors will bo opened at 7.30, tho concert commencing at 8.5. A collection will be taken at the doors.
