FAROE COMEDIES COMING

"‘Fun. frolic, and frivolity” is the catchword of W. J. C. Barr’s comedians, who take the stage at His Majesty’s Theatre from Saturday, January 14. An hilarious farcical comedy, ‘Up in Mabel’s Room,’ will _he presented us the opening attraction, and will be followed by another farce entitled ‘Oh, Richard! How Could You?’ These plays arc proved successes in both London and New York, ami Air Barr’s comedians met with a very cordial reception in Sydney and throughout Australia, where they played in all the leading theatres. Their aim is to dispense laughs and amuse their audiences to the utmost. The comedies selected are. clean and wholesome funmakers, and undoubted laugh-getters. The company includes sonic first-class comedians. Air Billy o‘Hanlon is a youthful fun-maker, who was held, in high esteem in London, whoro_ he appeared for some seasons in musical ami farcical comedy before coming to Australia with Air Barr’s company. Aliss Zara Clinton, the leading comedienne, is a London actress who for the last seven years has been starring in comedy roles in Canada ami the United States. The box plans open on Wednesday.

the sweetheart of Broadway, ami Clive Brook, as the sophisticated pleasureseeking matinee idol, give splendid performances. Alyrna Loy, George O’Hara, Jane Winton, and Joseph Dowling are consistently excellent in the major supporting roles.
