The British and Foreign Bible Society announces (says a Press Association telegram from Wellington) that by the addition of seven new versions since March last, it has n6w printed portions of the Scriptures in 600 different languages. At the beginning of the century the number was 365, so that 235 fresh versions have seen the light during less than twenty-eight years. Recently,.in one calendar year, fourteen new versions were issued, and at, the present time several are in type and will shortly be added to the grand total. “And what are you going to call him?” asked the doctor of the happy father. “ Reginald D’Arcy.” “That’s rather an uncommon, name, isn’t it?” “Yes; but I want him to bo a boxer.” “I don’t see the connection.” “Oh. that’s easy. Look at the practice ho’H get at school with a name like that.”
