Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright BRISBANE, June 20. The death is announced of tho Hon. Arthur Herbert Whittingham, one of Queensland’s most prominent pastoralists and sportsmen. [Tho Hon. Arthur Herbert Whittingham was born in Dunedin in 1869. He was educated at the Geelong Grammar School and Cambridge University. He studied medicine in London and Cambridge for three years before taking up pastoral work, and went to Queensland in 1901. He was an ex-M.L.C., president of the United Graziers’ Association of Queensland, and a director of the Union Trustee Company, and tho Australian Mercantile, Land, and Finance Company. Horses owned by him won several important races in Queensland.] ' SIR GEORGE BOOKMAN. ADELAIDE, June 21. (Received June 21, at 11.5 a.m.) The death is announced of Sir George Brookman, one of those associated with the discovery of tho famous Golden Mile at Kalgoorlie, aged seventy-one.
