QUEEN'S AND KING EDWARD
‘ Baree, Son of Kazan,’ the gripping story of the Far North written by James Oliver Curwood, is the current attraction at the Queen’s and King Edward Theatres. The story tells of Nepeese, a. young Indian girl who befriends an, animal, half dog and half wolf, and saves it from being killed. One day while her father, Pierrot, ,is away M'Taggart, a furtrader, comes to the cabin and_ is in the act of embracing her when Pierrot returns. A fight ensues, and the old man is killed, and* sooner than fall into M'Taggart’s hands, the girl throws herself into the river. She is_ rescued by Taboa, however, and at his wigwam meets Jim Carvel. The latter happened to see Kazan, the dog, in a trap and free him. M'Taggart again finds the girl, but Kazan protects her, incidentally killing the trader, and finally Jim and the girl find happiness together.
