GREAT ENTHUSIASM ANTICIPATED.
SPECIAL POLICE DETAILED. OTAGO’S CHANCES ROSY. f AUCKLAND, November 19. It is anticipated that there will be unprecedented scenes of enthusiasm at His Majesty’s Theatre this evening, when the mayor will announce and decorate “Miss Auckland.” The tremendous interest that has marked the whole of the contest is reaching its climax, which will be experienced in full force to-morrow evening, when “ Miss New Zealand ” will be proclaimed. Special police have been detailed for to-night and tomorrow night. Miss Thelma M'Millan is the popular favorite for the “Miss New Zealand” honor. In any case, it seems with many people to be a foregone conclusion that she will be the attendant to, if not “Miss New Zealand” herself. Miss Marie Osten is also extremely popular, and the prospects of the two Dunedin girls taking the honors back to their home town are very bright.
