STEALTHY BURGLAR MAKES HAUL STOLEN WHILE OWNER SLEPT [PfeE United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, November 18. While the occupants of a room slept, a burglar crept into the bedroom'of a house in Selwyn street, went through thd pockets of, a coat hanging on the door, then crept round the bed and took from under it a handbag containing about £l5O. Quietly he crept out again, unlocked the back door to let himself out, and vanished. The householder is a dance promoter, and he had in the bag the takings from a dance and euchre party held that night and the previous week, in addition to money from the till of h:s mercery shop. It had been his practice to keep a dog in the house, and this was the first time there had been a considerable sum of money and no dog.
