£1.250 DAMAGES
MISCONDUCT ALLEGED WITH PLAINTIFF’S WIFE [P'er United Press Association.] NAPIER, November 14. In the Walter Austin Orbell y. Henry A. Mossman case the jury deliberated for there hours, and gave a majority verdict for the plaintiff, with £1,250 damages. His Honor said he proposed to reserve the question as to what was to happen to the money awarded as damages until he had heard a petition against the respondent on his return from Gisborne next week. _ The petitioner was allowed costs on the higliest scale.
[A previous message from Napier stated that His Honor Mr Justice Ostler and a jury of twelve were called on in the Supreme Court to decide a claim for £2,000 by Walter Austin Orhell, a farmer, against Henry A. Mossman, financial agent, of Hastings. The grounds of the claim were alleged adultery between Mossman and Orbell’s wife.]
