SCOW STRANDED

DRAGGED HER ANCHORS [Peb United Pkess Association.] AUCKLAND, November 14. During the boisterous westerly weather on Saturday the Northern Company’s auxiliary scow Pono dragged her anchors at Kiritea, near Coromandel, and drifted ashore. At the time of the accident the Pono was loading wool from the beach by means of boats. This morning Captain Hammond, manager of the Northern Company, left Auckland in the steamer Gaol with men and tackle to refloat the stranded vessel. The extent of the damage to the Pono has not been reported.
