(Received January 16, at 10.30 a.m.) Official: The Duke of York is engaged to Elizabeth, daughter of the Karl of Strathmore.—A. and N.Z. Cable. [Albert Frederick Arthur George, Duke of York, is tho King's second son. He celebrated his twenty-seventh birthday on December Id. The- earldom of Strathmore was created in 1677, and the present earl is the fourteenth holder of the title. He is also Baron Glamis (title created 1445). Tho family soaks are Gin mis Castle, Forfarshire, and Strcatkam Castle, Darlington, Durham.]
