Williamson's Comedy Company at His Majesty’s Theatre to-morrow (Friday) evening, with Louis Dennison in the part of Johnny Wiggins. Tho play had an exceptionally fine three years' run in America, and again in Australia and Now Zealand is being greeted by crowded end delighted audiences. The Auckland ‘Herald,’ speaking of the opening performance in that city of Mr Louis Bcnnifon, says; “The- first night of ‘Johnny, Get Your Gun,’ was a. complete success. As a farce and as a drama the play strikes out on uncharted lines, gathering a wealth of refreshing comedy and vital action in j its folds. Its outstanding object is to exploit the possibilities of fun, and so pile absurdity upon absurdity, that every minute of the play contains a laugh. Tt amply demonstrated its efficacy in this respect last evening by the general laughs that accompanied the progress from tho commencement. Jt also served to introduce the American actor Mr Louis Dennison, who achieved a sure triumph before the evening was old, and who responded to curtain after curtain at the conclusion of the last two acts.” The company supporting Mr Dennison includes many of the best-known people on (.ho Australian stage, the principal being George Blunt, Marjorie Bennett, Dorothy 'Seacombe, Leslie Victor, George Bryant, Roger Barry, Nellie Mortyne., Gwen Burroughs, H. H. Wallace, Vivian Edwards, J. B. Aitholwood, Mario Eaton, Lou Vernon, A. Barbaras, Lillian Nightingale, Lc.n Nugcu, Edward Moncricff, and Phyllis Laurence. Robert E. Homans is the producer and H. C. Nightingale the stage manager. 5 Johnny, (let Your Gun,’ will be staged for two nights only, followed on Monday and Tuesday, January 15 and 16, by the romantic, comedy-drama ‘The. Great Lover.’ It is a story written around theatrical life, and reveals the fragrant secrets of the stage, that alluring makebelieve land behind the velveit curUins of the Grand Opera-house, Now York.
