BODY IN RIVER WITH GASHED THROAT.
\ Gisborne message states that a body seen floating in the Wainwta River bv'a hoy this- morning has been identified as that of Samuel Jarvis M’Conmck, manager of the Bank of Australasia. The body has several gashes in the throat, presumably cut with some sharp mst-rument. M Coimick retired as uspal last nignt. He had been in the habit Or y Sin „ rarly to do gardening, and was not missed till breakfast. He suffered recently from influenza.
