(Received November 21, at 10.15 a.m.) ■\mong the resolutions were adopted’at the recent Interstate Conference to discuss the plague, outbreak was one expressing the opinion that the epidemiological history of plague in Australia pointed to th.c extreme likelihood of a senmis outbreak among human beings in the early months of the ensuing year or vears, recommending the use of dogs instead of cats for destroying rats, and the payment of a bonus to Hie public as a valuable auxiliary measure for rat dest-i action. On the evidence available the conference was unable to speak decisively regarding the value of prophylactic mocu.ation with vaccine. The evidence available favored its use as an optional measure in those specially exposed to infection. The conference considered curative serum of sufficient value, to be used in casts ot plague It is important that it should be administered in the early stage of the disease in sufficiently large doses.
