LATE SHIPPING

The auxiliary ketch Watcrlily arrived at Bluff early on Friday morning last from Dunedin, after a very stormy passage. The vessel was compelled to take shelter at the Nuggets for some time. The 0. and D. liner Port Bowen was expected to leave Bluff on Saturday morning for Wellington, where her Homeward loading will be completed. The Koranui arrived at Gisborne at 11.30 a.m. yesterday from Dunedin via ports. She is to sail to-morrow afternoon for Napier to complete discharge. The vessel will afterwards come to Dunedin to load, again for Gisborne and Napier. The Koromiko arrived at Auckland at noon yesterday from Westport. After discharge she will lay up at Auckland for an indefinite period.

MEN AFLOAT AND ASHORE. . Captain W. Martin has been appointed to the command of the Kauri, relieving Captain J. D. Frew, who has transferred to the command of the Kekerangu. Captain J. Flynn has transferred from {he command of the Kekerangu to the command of the Kurow, relieving Captain P. L. Molyneux, who has come ashore on holiday leave. . Captain J. Plowman has been appointed to the command of the Kaitangata, -eUeving Captain A. E. Stewart, who has come ashore on holiday leave. Mr T. W. While, second officer of the Kann, has transferred to the Kekerangu la » similar capacity, Mr H. L. Hay, who has joined the Kann as secmd officer. Mr B. ,W. Gandcli has pined the Kokiri as second engineer, vice Mr P. H. Sturm has left the vessel, his place being taken by Mr A. J. Holm. CORINNA TO RESUME. The Union Company , advises that the Corinna, which has been under survey at Port Chalmers tor the past two_ weeks, will resume her coastal running this week. She will load at Dunedin on Wednesday for Nelson and New Plymouth via the usual ports.

The following vessels are expected to be within range of tho undermentioned wireless stations to-night:— Awamii—Tofua, Manuka, Manurowa (barque), Kawatiri, Austra-lina, Las Vegas. Auckland.—Kumara, Port Stephens, Pakeha, Tahiti. Wellington.—Maori, Mararoa, Mapourika, Dorset, Athenic, Katoa, Easterner, If anna, Paloona. Chatham Islands. —France (barque), Durham. A warua—Cornwall, SHIPPING CASUALTIES. Further particulars wore received in Sydney at the end of August, by wireless, from Ocean Island, of the wreck of Burns, Philp, and Co.’s auxiliary schooner Mania. The vessel, according to tho message, was lost on N-nnomoa, the most northern island of the Ellice Group, on April 9 last. All hands were saved, and Captain W. Johnstone (the master), C._ Pederson (mate), and S. R. Jones (engineer), arrived at Ocean Island on the steamer Bulga, one of the Commomv-ea Ith Government _ Lino, at present under charter to the Pacific Phosphates Co., to load phosphates at Ocean Island. Mr Dow, the supercargo, and tho remainder of tho crew (natives) were picked up by the company’s schooner Makao and landed at Tarawa. Arrangements have been made for the captain, mate, and engineer to return to Sydney by tho steamer Bulga. Nows reached Sydney on August 30 by wireless.of the wreck" of the auxiliary schooner Awn, belonging to the 'Hamilton Plantation and Choi&uol Trading Company The vessel was wrecked at tho Solomon Group. She was employed in the intcrisland trade. The Awa was a schooner of about twenty-six tons. She was built at Holmes's yard, APMahon r> Point.’ All the members of the epew were saved.
