A LIGHT-DRAUGHT STEAMER. Tho Canterbury Steamship Company announces that Captain Monro, managing director, will leave New Zealand by the Corinthic on April 23 for England for the purpose of purchasing a light—draught steamer for tho trade between Dunedin, Tiruaru, Lyttelton, and Wanganui. It is Captain Monro’s intention lo purchase a vowel of tho most suitable type to work tho Wanganui River. Tho vessel will run in conjunction with tho company’s other steamers, and thus ample tonnage should bo provided for tho trade. It is expected that the, vessel will roach New Zealand in about six months' time.
