HOSPITAL COMMISSION
POINTS AGAINST NATIONALISATION STATE ADVANCES TO BOARDS. [Pkb United Pukss Association.] WELLINGTON, April 15. Giving evidence at the Hospital Commission on tho question of control, Mr E. Killick, secretary of the Health Department, strongly supported the present system against the nationalisation proposals, ns giving full, representation to the ratepayers. Under nationalisation, he said, there would be no check upon tho clamor for capital expenditure that would_ arise if moneys came from tho Consolidated Funds, lie urged that capital expenditures should not be repaid over such long periods as now, because of tho great burden of interest. Boards should not undertake works which could not be liquidated in, snv, ten years, and the Government should extend the advantages of the State Advances Office to hospital boards immediately Sta finances permitted.
