BACK FROM THE GRAVE

AUSTRALIAN STEAMER EPISODE. A remarkable coincidence happened during the voyage of the A.D.S.N. Company’s steamer Wyandra to Sydney from Queensland ports last week (states the ‘ Age ’ of March 31). At Cairns a Mrs Bolt boarded the steamer, and at Bowen a Mr Bolt embarked as a passenger for Sydney. The lady was travelling as far as Melbourne, and as the Wyandra went no further than Sydney her ticket was returned to her, in order that die might get a refund to enable her to complete the journey by train or by another steamer. Mr H'. Hogben, chief steward, not noticing that the' ticket was for Mrs Bntt, took it to the male passenger of that name. When the latter said ho was not going to Melbourne Mr Hogben realised the mistake, and said, “That’s funny'. There is a lady on board with the same panic. It is not a common one. Perhaps she is some relative. I’ll introduce you.” When the two were brought together there was a touching scene. Mr? Bntt uttered a cry of surprise and pleasure, for she recognised the son whom she had not seen for fourteen years, and whom she had believed hilled at. the war. To realise that the rumor of his death which had. reached her was fa,l;c, and to meet him again in such an unexpected manner after so many- years, almost overcame the delighted mother. The other passengers gave the mother and son a hearty send-off as they left the vessel together.

A good thing has many imitations. Order “ NAZOL ” by name. Refuse substitutes. No cold is Na/01-prooL—[Advt.]
