The Hamburg-Aroerika Line proposes to increase its capital by 100,000,000 maris, to be subscribed by other shipping companies. The shares are not to bo offered in the open" market, in order to prevent a controlling position being secured by foreign capitalists, who have been buying extensively owing to tho depreciation in the mark. It is reported that a number of other industrial concerns are adopting similar methods.—A.' and N.2f. Cable.
