Manaroa, Port Chalmers, Tire oversea steamer Cathlamet is discharging 6-30 tons of general cargo and case oil from_ New York at the Victoria wharf. She is to sail to-morrow evening for Hobart, Melbourne. Adelaide, and Fremantle to complete discharge. The Tarawera’s cargo from Sydney includes tea transhipment;; - from Colombo ex the steamers Palm?, and Mantua. She will sail about Friday for Wellington and Sydney. The Monowai will leave Auckland on Friday or Saturday for East Coast ports and Dunedin. She should arrive here toward? the end of next week. The Kauri is to leave Timaru to-day for Newcastle to replenish her bunkers. She will afterwards go to Geelong to load wheat for New Zealand. The Wanaka left Auckland at 11 lastnight laden with general cargo for Lyttelton, Timaru, Oamaru, Dunedin, and Bluff. 1 _ .

THE FERRY SERVICE. The Wahine arrived at Lyttelton at 7 a.m. to-day from Wellington, and mails and passengers connected with the first express for the south. ZEALANDIC FROM ENGLAND. Cable advice has been received by the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company that their liner Zealandic left England < u March 27 for Australian ports via the ' Cape of Good Hope route. The .vessel will land passengers at Fremantle, Adelaide, Melbourne, and Sydney, and will then come to New Zealand to discharge her cargo. The Zealandic should reach New Zealand about June 3. OTIRA AT LYTTELTON. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion liner Otira arrived at Lyttelton at 5 p.m. on Friday last from Auckland, laden with 2,000 tons of railway iron for the Nev: Zealand Government. The vessel left London on January 4. and loaded a cargo of coal at Port Kembla for Auckland, at which port she arrived bn Mafbh 18. The Otira is ono of the British Government standard ships of the G class, and was built at Belfast by Messrs Harland and Wolff to Admiralty specifications, and has a cruiser stem. This class of steamer was completed after the armistice was signed, and was then sold to private owners. The Otira is a twin-screw steamer of 4,911 tons net and 7,995 tons gross. Her dimensions are : Length 462 ft and breadth 58ft. Her engines arc 7,000 h.p., and she is built to steam 14.5 knots. She has not been constructed for the accommodation of frozen cargo, but can carry 11.240 tons deadweight of other cargo, including 3,000 . tons of bunkers. The vessel is on her second trip to New- Zealand. She has on board 83 of a British crew. Captain W. P. Clifton-Mogg, who is in command, has with him the following officers ; Chief, Mr A. NOKATAY FROM NEW YORK. j The steamer Nokatay is due at Lyttol- < ton to-day from New York via. Panama. The vessel is bringing general freight and case oil for discharge at Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Australian ports. She should arrive here towards the end of this week. THE SYDNEY STEAMERS. The Moeraki arrived at Wellington early this morning from Sydney with mails, passengers, ■ and a large shipment of general cargo. She will sail tliis evening for Lyttelton, and will leave the Canterbury port to-morrow evening (on the arrival of the first express from Dun■edin) for Wellington, ■ Sydney, and Hobart. The Rivcrina, which arrived at Auckland at noon yesterday from Sydney, is timed to sail on the return voyage cn Thursday afternoon. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS.
