THE GOAL SHORTAGE
WELLINGTON GAS SUPPLY RUNS OUT. [Feu United Press Association.] IVELLINGTOX. Juno 25. Tho Gas Company announce that they will have to temporarily ccaso the supply of gas after this evening, owing to tho depletion of coal slocks. Tho suddenness of this decision is due to tho non-arrival of cargoes of coal, vessels being delayed, presumably by bad weather, on the West Coast. The company statu that by 5 p.rn. to-day evcvv bit of coal in. their works will lifivo been used.
The Dunedin city gasworks have sufficient coal to keep them going for a mouth at least.
