Kelly has been retained for Sir Ibex. D.J.C. WINTER MEETING. The amended programme for the Winter Meeting on the 3rd, sth, and 7th June has been approved. The chief races over jumps are: Otago Steeplechase, 3m, 1,000 sovs (first day); Wingatui Steeples, 2|m, 400sovs (second day); Dunedin Steeples, 2im, SOOsovs (third day) ; Trial Hurdles, l|m, 200sovs (first day); Otago Hurdles, 2m, SOOsovs (second dav); Victoria Hurdles, lJ,m, 300sovs (third day). The principal flat racea are: Birthday Handicap, lim, SOOsovs (first day) ; Provincial Handicap, l|m. 350sovs (second day); and King George Handicap," lm. 400sovs (third day). There is a six-furlong raco each day of "the value of SOOsovs, 245050v5, and 300 sove respectively; while there are five hack races of 200sovs each, in addition to three hack steeples of 200sovs each and two Welters of 250sovs each. On the first day there is a Jumpers' Flat Race of 200 sovs. The total stakes for the meeting are £7,500. PIRATES FOOTBALL CLUB. The annual report states that the past! season will rank as the most successful in the history of the club; not only on ac-! count of the record number of teams competing, but also in the success achieved m winning the senior competition for the first time since 1886. The junior tet-ms' performances must he considered very satisfactory, especially the A team, who, although tying for fourth place out of 11 entries, missed some matches by small margins. The club have a credit balance of about £2B, and for the first time in their history report no outstanding subscriptions and no liabilities.
