Time, Imin 291,-sec. CIVIL SERVICE HARRIERS. The sixteenth annual meeting of tho Civil Service Harrier Club was held on Saturday evening. In moving the adoption of the annual report and balance-sheet, tho Chairman (Mr C. R. Andrews) congratulated the clnb on their prosperity. Notwithstanding the trying period of the war, and the fact that 85 members bad joined the colors, tho club were still able to show a substantial credit balance. Tho following office-bearers were elected ; —President, Mr J. Wilson ; vice-presidents —Messrs S. P. Whit-combe, O. R. Andrews, J. G. Stephens, and J. Murray; captain, Mr H. G, V. As tho result of a collision on tho Flemington (Melbourne) tracks on Saturday the racehorse Sire Carl was destroyed. A lengthy meeting of the Judicial Committee of the Hamilton Racing Club was held at Hamilton on Tuesday in connection with statements made by Mr Ewen I Alison at am inauiiw held in the afternoon.

After the hearing of evidence it was unanimously decided that, under the Rules of Racing, .Air Ewen Alison, jun., bo disqualified for 12 months. G-. Young was engaged to ride John Barleycorn in the Waimato Cup, but ho baa been advised that F. K. Jones has decided to ride the Sarto gelding liimself.
