MEETINGS
At the monthly meeting of the Mosgie! District Hich School Committee, the Rector reported that the attendance had been interfered with by bad weather and sickness. The average hnd been 318. He recommended that the school close for term holidays from 9th to 16th September. Thia was agreed to. The Works Committee drew attention to a blocked drain at the cookery room and the need for a new rope in the flagpole. It was resolved to attend to these matters. The board advised thifc the increased grant of £ls per annum *wild be paid in respect k> the gymnasium, which was used as a class room. It was resolved to proenre. a newflag for the echool. Mr Smeaton tendered his resignation as a member of committee, as he had left the town. Mr T. Walsh was nominated for the vacancy. Mr Miller was appointed Visiting Committee for September. It was resolved to contribute £1 7s 6d to help to defray the expenses of the school's Rugby team. The inspector's report on the recent examination was laid before the meeting. Tho committee expressed their pleasure with the contents, and passed a resolution complimenting the teachers on the excellence of the report.
