SECONDARY SCHOOLS' TOURNAMENT. [Special to the ' Star.'] GHRISTCHURCH, August 28. Li the annual football tournament between Christehurch, Timaru, Otago, and Southland Boys' High Schools, which. commences at Invercargill on Saturday, tho following Christehurch team will leave to-morrow :—T. T. Ltvscelles, A C. Allen, E. J. Bowes, J. M. \\ llkmghby, W. Graham, S. Carleton, W. Daiiey, J L White, J. Forsyth, P. J. Donnelly, J. A. Frasor (captain) D. Gunn, D. Dickson, L. D. Page, D. Reese, Tho emergencies are : Alley (back), Davey, and Pet re (forwards). Mr G. H. Mason, coach, and Mr R. Thompson, one of the masters, travel in charge of the team, . SOCCER. The Canterbury Football Association have advised that the dato (September 14) suggested by Otago for tho Brown Shield match Otago v. Canterbury, at Christchurch, in the event of Canterbury defeating Wellington on September 7, is unsuitable, and. that September 21 is prei ferable. The Otago Association have therefore decided to postpone the proposed practice match for the Brown Shield team, and, instead, to hold on Saturday the first round of the Senior " knock-out " competition.
