DRUIDS’ SOCIAL

A very pleasant evening: was spent in the Druids’ Hall, Port Chalmers,- when the Boys’ Band of the District High School, with the officers of the All Nations’ Lodge of Druids, accompanied by their wives and families, were entertained by Past Arch Bro. It. hi* Alpine and Past Arch Bro. R. Liftwich. Among the visitors present were Mr G. I- 1 . Booth and Mrs -Booth. Tho Rev. W. 31. Grant and Mrs Grant, also representatives or tho local Oddfellows’ and Foresters’ Lodges. Bro. Liftwich, in welcoming the boys and risitors, trusted that they would spend a pleasant evening, as it was always a pleasure \o the Druids to try to encourage tho boys ji their good work, as they were always willing to turn out to play the Druids to church an their annual church parade. Songs and recitations passed away the evening, and a number of prizes were given for competition. A watch, the gift of P.A. Bro. J. Craig, for the most popular boy in the band, fell to Bandsman Tl. Facor. After refreshments had been handed round the Rev. \V. If. Grant presented the prises, and thanked tho heats for tho enjoyable evening that had been -spent. 31 r G. F. Booth also returned thanks on behalf of tho boys, while 3lr 3V, D. Campbell and 3lr I. C. Isbdster returned thanks for the Oddfellows and Forresters respectively.
