This Day. A noticeable, feature in connection with the sale to-day was the diminished attendance of buyers. Farmers and graziers were not well represented. Another point of interest was that several pens of extra heavy and splendid quality sheep wero forward. Sheep.—A medium yarding, 2,602 being penned. Amongst the number were some reallv first-class quality and heavy-weight sheep. Some individual prices obtained might suggest that values this week were in advance of late rates, but this was not so. Quality considered, prices showed a reduction of fully Is 6d per head on late ruling rates. Extra prime and extra heavy-weight wothere made'from £4 to £4 2s 6d; prime heavy-weight wethers, 51s to 535; prime, 46s "to 50s; medium, 40s to 45s 3d ; lighter, 33s to 38s. Prime ewes brought up to 44s ; medium, 36s to 40s ; light and inferior, 26s to 345. Fat Lambs.—A small yarding of medium quality, the number penned being 196. Those* were sold at prices ranging from 28s to 325. The first spring lamb of the season was offered. The quality was onlv fair. It realised" 255. F"at Gattle.—A lull yarding of mixed quality, 22? being penned, home of the pons contained a number of really good quality bullocks. The sale opened at prices somewhat weaker than last week's rates, and at the time of going to press no improvement had taken place. Prime heavy-weight bullocks realised up to £26 15s ; prime- to £23 17s 6d ; medium, £lB to £22; light and unfinished, £ls to £l7. Fair quality heifers were sold up to £l7 i light from £l4 10s to £l6; aged and inferior, £ll 10s to" £l3 10s. Store Cattle.— A fair yarding, but competition was less animated, with a weakening tendency. Pigs.—A small yarding sold under very keen competition, the market being insruffioiantly supplied. Best light-weight porkers realised up to 9d per lb, and others up to &i<l per lb. Best baconers brought from 7|d to 8d per lb.
