ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
Mr Joseph Smith, 52 years of age. a warper in the employ of the Bruce Woollen Mills, died in his bed at Milton about 11.30 on Saturday-evening. When he retired at 7.30 he complained of pains in the chest. His wife found him dead at the time slated. An inquest was held this morning by Mr Aitchesoii, S.M.
A Pahiatua message stales that John Miller M'Narry Duncan (41) was killed by a, big fall of met:il at a quarry where he was working at Rakaunui. William Cutler narrowly escaped injury. The pit had been frequently inspected, and no danger was apparent. The deceased leaves a wife and several children at Makuri.
The Superintendent of Police has been advised that William Veitch was found drowned at Oamarn this morning.
Jane F. Main, single, aged bo, of 32 Harper street. Sydenham, died last night while going to the. .Salvation Army Hall at Christ-church, report.-; an Association mescage.
