Oats.—Stocks in store are practically exhausted, and with light offerings and a stronger inquiry values can be"' quoted firmer. Good, bright heavy samples are readily placed at. quotations', which are as follow.?:—Prime milling. 3s'ld to 3s 2d; good to best feed. 3s to 3s Id ; medium to good. 2s lOd to 2s lid per bushel (sacks extra!.
Wheat.—Any samples of milling wheatcoming under offer are readily taken bv millers at the prices established bv the Government. Fowl wheat is in short supply, and is saleable in small lots lor local requirement? at 5s 8d to 5s 9d per bushel (sacks extra).
Potatoes.—Consignments are offering more freely, and values are a little easier than last quoted. Prime freshlv-dug tables are in most demand, and for 'the.se the ruling rate is now £7 to £8 per ton (sacks ini. Medium quality and faulty linos are not so readily placed. Chaff.—Owing to file. broken weather supplies have >'ackened off, the quantity coming forward being unequal to 'the demand, consequently prices have, firmed. All bright, heavy oaten sheaf comifts forward meets a ready sale, at quotations. Wo quote : Best oaten sheaf, £4 10s to £4 15s ; medium to good, £4 os to £4 10s per ton isiu-ks extra).
Messrs Donald lleid and Co.. Ltd.. report •: We held our weekly auction sale, of grain and produce at our stores this morning, when values ruled as under:
Oats.—There is keen demand for prime lilies for immediate or forward delivery as soon as threshed, (iarlons of A grade qualify and prime duns hav-s most inquiry, but, all sorts in pood to prime condition are readily placed. We quote: Prime milling, os Li to 3s 2d; good to best feed. 3s to 5s Li : inferior to medium, 2s 8d to 2s lOd per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat.—All lines threshed in good to prime milling condition are readily taken by millers at- Government valuation, i'ovrl wheat in small quantities for local use meets with good inquiry. Several lots at oar sale to-day realised 5s 8d to 5s 9d per bushel (sacks'extrai.
Potatoes.—Fair samples are coming forward, and for best lines to-dav's values are £7 10s to £8; medium to'pood, £6 10s to £7 per ion fsacks included). Chaff.—Small supplies are. coming for■ward, and in view of this fact prices have hardened to some extent. We. quote: Best oaten sheaf, £4 12s 6d to £4 15s; medium to good, £4 to £4 10s per ton (bags extra).
