BELGIAN RELIEF.
. NEW YORK. February 16. It is officially, confirmed that the Germans have asked the Americans engaged in the relief work in Belgium to remain, ihe Commission consented to do so on the understanding that their activities will not be restricted, but continue on the same basis as existed before the diplomatic break.
Germany still adheres to her demand that the. relief vessels shall approach and leave Rotterdam by the North Sea route, which is so hazardous as to be almost impracticable. The result is that the ships are held up. while the position of the Belgians is becoming more critical.
